How It Works

What Happens When You Verify

Each VaulTag certificate is a cryptographic record on the Polygon blockchain. When you scan or enter the certificate number, we query the chain and compare it to our database in real time.

  • 1 Your certificate number is sent to our verification endpoint and checked against the blockchain record.
  • 2 We recalculate the SHA-256 hash of the certificate data and compare it to the stored hash.
  • 3 If the hashes match and the certificate status is VERIFIED, the product is confirmed authentic.
  • 4 The full certificate details — brand, product, serial number and date — are displayed to you.
